The industrial diamonds series is attempt to capture the unique character of derelict buildings, industrial areas, and trains with photography's gift of turning the everyday into something of interest.
A photograph of the inside of the boiler room in the River Arts District in Asheville NC - a huge 10-15' boiler. This building was once a part of a larger cotton mill district. The buildings have been abandoned since the 1950s. Almost the entire complex was burned to the ground in the 1990s. This building contains ice-making equipment that is at least 60 years old. The buildings, in most cases have been converted into artist studios. This one is still derelict.
